OUR MISSION
Moomo was founded in 2024, when two Irish fintech minds Cillian O’Reilly and Eamon Walsh set out to reimagine the future of retail investing.
Cillian, a seasoned FX strategist from Cork, had spent over a decade consulting for European broker-dealers. Eamon, a former AI systems architect at a blockchain R&D firm in Galway, had built real-time data engines for hedge funds and staking platforms. The pair met at FinTech Week Dublin, and by the end of that same week, they had already sketched out the first blueprint for what would become Moomo.
By mid-2024, from a shared co-working loft in the heart of Dublin, they launched Moomo v1.0, a cycle-based trading network powered by AI. Users could deploy short-term swing bots in Forex, stake assets into dynamic crypto farming pools, or design long-term positions all from a single, user-controlled interface.
Today, Moomo serves traders across time zones, bringing structure, transparency, and discipline to AI-assisted investing. The company is proud to be recognized as Ireland’s first AI trading network, and one of Europe’s most promising early stage fintech innovators.

How two Irish minds came together to build Moomo
In June 2023, at FinTech Week Dublin—a major annual conference hosted at the Convention Centre Dublin, Cillian O'Reilly delivered a talk titled "Breaking the Black Box: Transparency in Algorithmic Trading." In the same session, Eamon Walsh, a senior AI systems engineer, presented on "Real-Time Data Systems for Risk Monitoring."
Over drinks in the conference networking hall that evening, their shared conclusion? Most trading platforms were either too closed, too complex, or too reckless. It was time to build something new, something that honored the intelligence of the investor.
The Strategist
From Cork, Cillian had built a reputation in institutional FX trading circles across London and Frankfurt. His specialty was designing rule-based models with clear entry/exit signals, robust risk parameters, and disciplined timelines. He believed investing should feel like project planning—structured, measurable, and grounded in logic, not hype.
The Engineer
Hailing from Limerick, Eamon graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology and went on to build backend systems for DeFi and AI-powered fintechs. He developed engines that tracked multi-asset volatility in real time, enforced stop-loss mechanisms, and prioritized auditability in every layer. His obsession: "If it can't be explained, it shouldn't be deployed."
Between July and December 2023, the two built quietly, testing logic in spreadsheets, running backtests, running early bots in test environments. By January 2024, they incorporated Moomo Ltd and onboarded their first closed beta users, early adopters who helped shape the platform's usability and structure.
By Q2 2024, Moomo's first full version launched with four core investment cycles. Every plan came with a defined start and end date and human oversight built-in.
Cillian and Eamon didn't build Moomo to chase hype, they built it to solve a trust problem. In a world of anonymous bots and influencer-traded promises, they built a company based on discipline, truth in metrics, and user-first design.
Their goal wasn't to predict the future.
It was to help people invest in it with clarity.
